Carry Hope 2020/21 Virtual Run

Carry Hope Virtual Run 2020/21 was organized by the Rare Disorders Society (Singapore) with the intention of raising awareness for the rare community in Singapore. The sloth mascot, HOPE, was from UK who represented the hopes of the Pompe Patients. Hope has travelled across the world, and now in Singapore, bringing along with it are the wishes and dreams of RDSS beneficiaries.

We would like to thank all the stakeholders (beneficiaries, sponsors, public) who have strongly supported our first virtual event held in 2020/21 during the pandemic. It has not been easy for everyone, even so for our families, when we had to protect fiercely our kids from the potential deadly Covid-19 Virus. Without these sponsors, the virtual event would not have been successful!

We have successfully raised an amount of $11,000 which $5,000 will be donated to one of our adopted causes, the Rare Disease Fund. RDF is managed by KKH Health Fund and has the support of the Ministry of Health, to help patients with rare as the last line of support for patients with a rare disorder after other financial schemes.

Run, Snap and Post! Thank you to all the Carry Hope Ambassadors who have came forward in completing the 7.7km run/walk and posting their picture with the hashtag #CarryHopeRDSS! We have over 100 Ambassadors who participated in our very first run from the public to the corporates such as HYC, Kyowa Kirin, Sanofi and Pfizer!

This is a special shoutout to the following runners who especially went the extra mile to run with Hope! We have the Lee Sisters, who have been always so supportive of RDSS beneficiaries with their runs! And we have Siao and Hwi Bee who went rallying their support when they too ran the 50km, bringing HOPE along with them. And we were very honored to have MP Poh Li San who joined the Lee Sisters in one of the runs! And we have Pfizer who made a video in support of Carry Hope!
